Planeta wirusów Czy wirusy sterują życiem na Ziemi?, Brud. Cuchnąca historia higieny, Czy musimy dzielić historię na epoki oraz Początek końca? Rozmowy o lodzie i zmianie klimatu – to tytuły, które zostały wybrane Mądrymi Książkami Roku 2021. 17 maja o godz. 17:00 w ramach Copernicus Festival 2022: Informacja zostały ogłoszone wyniki organizowanego od 2016 roku konkursu na najlepszą książkę popularnonaukową wydaną lub przetłumaczona na język polski w ubiegłym roku.
Galę poprowadził Wojciech S. Wocław, a jego gościem był członek konkursowego Jury prof. Stanisław Kistryn. 15 nominowanych pozycji (których listę można znaleźć tutaj) było branych pod uwagę w czterech kategoriach. Oto wyniki:

- nagroda główna dla książki dla dzieci „Mądra Książka Roku 2021 dla dzieci” – Monika Utnik-Strugała, Piotr Socha (koncepcja i ilustracje), Cuchnąca historia higieny, Wydawnictwo Dwie Siostry
- nagroda społeczności akademickiej UJ – Jacques Le Goff, Czy naprawdę trzeba dzielić historię na epoki?, tłum. Wanda Klenczon Wydawnictwo Aletheia
- nagroda internautów i czytelników Gazety Wyborczej – Julita Mańczak, Jakub Małecki, Początek końca? Rozmowy o lodzie i zmianie klimatu, wydawnictwo Znak Literanova
Nagrody główne przyznało Jury w składzie: prof. Stanisław Kistryn (Uniwersytet Jagielloński), dr Monika A. Koperska (Stowarzyszenia Rzecznicy Nauki, MAK Art & Science Productions), dr Kamil Kopij (UJ, Madre Książki), Michał Olszewski (Gazeta Wyborcza), Marta Seweryn (Carbon Footprint Foundation), Aleksandra Stanisławska (Crazy Nauka), Leszek Szumlas (Mądre Książki), Marta Alicja Trzeciak (Mądre Książki i Centrum Nauki Experyment w Gdyni).

We now know the results of the seventh edition of the Smart Book of the Year 2021 – a competition for the best popular science book of the past year
A Planet of Viruses; The Book of Dirt: A smelly history of dirt, disease and human hygiene; Must We Divide History Into Periods? and The beginning of the end? Conversations about ice and climate change – these are the titles that have been selected as the Smart Books of the Year 2021. On 17 May at 5 p.m., as part of the „Copernicus Festival 2022: Information” event, the results of the competition for the best popular science book published or translated into Polish last year, which has been organised since 2016, were announced.
The Gala was hosted by Wojciech S. Wocław and his guest was a member of the Competition Jury, Professor Stanisław Kistryn. The 15 nominated books (the list of which can be found here: http://madraksiazkaroku.pl/nominacje/) competed in four categories. Below we present are the results:

- Jagiellonian University Academic Community Award – Jacques Le Goff, Must We Divide History Into Periods?, polish translation: Wanda Klenczon, Aletheia Publishing House
- Public Choice Award organized by Gazeta Wyborcza – Julita Mańczak, Jakub Małecki, The beginning of the end? Conversations about ice and climate change, Znak Publishing House
The main awards were granted by the Jury consisting of: Professor Stanisław Kistryn (Jagiellonian University), Doctor Monika A. Koperska (The Spokesman of Science, MAK Art & Science Productions), Doctor Kamil Kopij (Jagiellonian University, Smart Books), Michał Olszewski (Gazeta Wyborcza), Marta Seweryn (Carbon Footprint Foundation), Aleksandra Stanisławska (Crazy Science), Leszek Szumlas (Smart Books), Marta Alicja Trzeciak (Smart Books and the Experyment Science Centre in Gdynia).
